Hume City FC has made another big signing during the NPL Victoria mid-year transfer window with the inclusion of Gold Coast-based defender Zahi Addis.
A National Premier League Queensland title-winner, Addis is a highly talented, fast left-back who has experience at a high level.
The Queenslander started out with Gold Coast United when he was 16-years-old before transferring to Brisbane Roar in 2022, where he was a vital part of the youth squad and spent time with the seniors.
Following his loan spell with the A-League side, Addis had a successful stint with Gold Coast Knights where he enjoyed NPL Queensland glory, before making a return to Gold Coast United where he played until now.
The 21-year-old is the second interstate player to join Hume City FC during the mid-year transfer window, with fellow defender Mason Tatafu signing earlier this week.
Addis will be eligible to make his Hume City debut as part of the senior squad’s visit to South Melbourne on Friday 27 June.

Zahi Addis
Hume City Defender
“I always wanted to make the step from Queensland NPL to Victoria to develop my career, and having spoken to the club, I don’t think there is a better place to be for that transition,” Addis said.
“I am buzzing to be here at Hume City and keen to get started, as I think Victoria is possibly the highest place to play in the country at this level.
“Having the opportunity to sign until the end of next season is great, and I truly believe that I can contribute to the team and play a big part in the charge for finals.”
Nick Hegarty
Hume City FC Coach
“Zahi is an extremely talented player and was someone I had high on my priority list of signings. He will certainly bolster our defensive stocks, while also offering an attacking threat,” Hegarty said.
“We worked really hard to get Zahi’s signature and we couldn’t be happier to have him playing for the club. I have no doubt he will play a pivotal role in the team’s pursuit of finals.
“Having already enjoyed success at this level, Zahi has a winning mentality, which will be a welcome addition to our strong culture here.”
