Hume City FC is pleased to announce the signing of exciting young midfielder Aiki Tsukamoto for the 2026 season.
Joining from Eastern Lions, Tsukamoto arrives with a strong youth pedigree after spending the majority of his development at A-League club Perth Glory.
As a teenager, Tsukamoto progressed through the Glory Academy at a rapid rate, making his debut for its National Premier League first team at just 16 years old. He consistently played in the team at 18-years old before breaking into the Perth Glory U23 squad at age 20, while also making it to the A League side matchday squad on several occasions.
At the end of 2024, Tsukamoto relocated to Melbourne and joined Eastern Lions for the 2025 Victorian second-tier season, where he impressed as a goal-scoring midfielder.
Capable of playing in multiple midfield roles, the versatile 21-year-old is eager to make his mark at Hume City.
“I’m very excited. It’s a great challenge for me and I want to prove myself at this level,” Tsukamoto said.
“My hope is to achieve as much as possible. Hume City is a big club and the expectation is to win. With the squad we have, I think we can do that. If I can play a part in that success, I’ll be very happy.”
“Coming from Perth Glory, playing my first full season in NPL Victoria will be a great challenge. I want to prove myself at the highest level here.”
“I’m still young, but I don’t want to waste any time. I want to kickstart my career at this great club and achieve all the goals I can.”
Hume City head coach Nick Hegarty was delighted to secure Tsukamoto for the 2026 season.
“Aiki is an exciting young talent with a bright future ahead of him, and he has an important role to play this year. Aiki has a very high level of game IQ and the technical skill set to deliver what he sees.” Hegarty said.
We are thrilled to welcome him to the club, and I look forward to seeing how he develops next year.”
