Hume City FC is delighted to officially confirm the appointment of Adam Piddick as the club’s new Head Coach.
Piddick arrives at Hume City FC with extensive coaching experience across the National Premier League system, having most recently held roles with Dandenong Thunder and Bentleigh Greens, while previously spending six seasons at Port Melbourne Sharks.
The experienced coach was at Port Melbourne from 2017 to 2023, establishing himself as one of the competition’s leading coaches before joining Dandenong Thunder in 2024, where he remained until 2026.
Prior to his appointment at Port Melbourne, Piddick was based in Queensland, where he rose through the coaching ranks while completing his AFC Professional Diploma.
During this period, he began as the Under 20s Head Coach at Brisbane Strikers before joining National Premier League Queensland outfit Moreton Bay United as Head Coach and later Technical Director.
It was during that time with Moreton Bay where Piddick experienced his most prolific season as a head coach, guiding the team to the National Premier League Queensland title in 2015.
Piddick now takes charge of Hume City FC following the departure of Nick Hegarty, who leaves the club to take up a major role with an A-League side, Brisbane Roar.
The new Head Coach will take charge with the club coming off its strongest NPL Victoria campaign to date and is excited by the opportunity to build on the foundations already established at Hume City FC.

“I think it’s a big opportunity and an exciting challenge,” Piddick said.
“Normally, when you come into a new club, you’re in an organisation that hasn’t been performing well, but this is an unusual situation where I’m coming into a club that has performed at its best. The group we’ve currently got is at a good level, and I’m looking forward to trying to take them to the next level.
“My style is to be proactive and aggressive, both with and without the ball. I want to take the game on and be attack-minded, and hopefully we’ll see that come through in our football, not just with the senior team but throughout the whole football club.
“Hume City FC has a rich history and has been in the league for a long time – they have a good fan base and a strong community so I am excited to be involved.
“Ultimately, we want to play good football, be very competitive, be hard to beat and hopefully win some titles in the near future.
“I can’t wait to get back and get on the training park. The facilities are fantastic, so there are no excuses not to prepare properly for next year. I’m really looking forward to it.”
