Hume City farewell a further four from Broadmeadows

A further four changes have been made to the Hume City FC playing list with the confirmed departures of Mehmet Uysal, Aisen Ishak, Oli Kelaart and Obiora Eze.

Having all featured prominently during this year’s National Premier League Victoria season, the club says goodbye to four players who all made their club appearances in 2025, with Uysal having been a long-time member of Hume City.

Joining the club as a junior, Uysal worked his way up the ranks for the majority of his teenage years before enjoying a breakthrough year in the U23s last year. The midfielder’s remarkable form earned him a call up to the senior squad, where he debuted earlier this year – ending his maiden NPL season with three goals and two assists.

While Uysal has been at the club for the longest, Kelaart had the most experience of the four having played at a range of clubs across Spain and Iceland between 2017 and 2024 before arriving at Broadmeadows at the start of this year.

Like Uysal and Kelaart, fellow midfielder Eze made his National Premier Leagues debut this year, with the 20-year-old having broken into the senior squad midway through the year following a promising spell in his youth career.

As for Ishak, the versatile defender could play both on the left and in the centre of defence, and leaves the club having joined midway through the 2024 season from Altona City following stints at Preston Lions and Melbourne Victory’s Youth and U21 squads.

Hume City FC coach Nick Hegarty thanked the four players for their contributions to the club.

“On behalf of everyone at Hume City FC, I would like to thank Mehmet, Aisen, Oli, and Obi for their service to the club during their time here,” Hegarty said.

“We wish them all the best for their future endeavours and success in their footballing journeys and look forward to warmly welcoming them when they return to Nasiol Stadium in the seasons to come.”
