Hume City are pleased to announce that 21 year old midfielder Andrew Pawiak will join the club when his current contract expires overseas.
Andrew Pawiak joins Hume straight from a season with Ilocos United of the Philippines Football League. Andrew has made 25 appearances for Ilocos this season.
Andrew talks about his season and the challenges he faced, “It’s been quite difficult, mainly due to the long-haul travels for away games. We traveled a minimum of 8 hours for each away game, as we’re based in the north of the Philippines in a place called Vigan, whereas most other teams are based in the capital city Manila which is 8 hours away by bus. Also, the climate is very hot, making it quite energy sapping. The standard of football is quite good, better than I expected it to be. Overall, it was a challenging but good experience and I’m sure I’ll be better for it.”
The ball playing midfielder has also proven himself to be a leader on and of the field in Australia and overseas. Andrew will shortly meet his new team mates for the first time to prepare for the 2018 NPL Season.
We can’t wait for the new season to kick off and we hope to see you there in 2018!
