After a gutsy come from behind win against Heidelberg United last week, Hume City head to John Cain Memorial Reserve to take on Northcote City on Saturday afternoon.
WHAT’S AT STAKE:
Hume City will look to build some momentum as the season reaches its middle stages. Last week’s 3-2 victory over Heidelberg could well be a launching pad for City in 2016, as it seeks to attain its first piece of silverware in the top competition. Northcote City claimed their first win of the year against Richmond SC last round, the side showing considerable signs of improvement after Goran Lozanovski took over as head coach.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT:
Northcote endured a horror start to 2016, remaining winless until their 3-2 victory over Richmond SC last round. Former coach Goran Lozanovski, who took up an assistant role at Port Melbourne in the interim, has been re-instated as head coach, tasked with taking Northcote out of relegation territory.
LOOK OUT FOR:
Daniel Clark, who endured a tough pre-season due to injury, marked his return to competitive football with the winning goal against Heidelberg, on a night which also happened to be his birthday. Clark’s combination’s with Kym Harris and Nick Hegarty proved vital last week and may well do again against Northcote, as Hume look to string some wins together and march up the table.
