After a solid pre season under the guidance of coach Andy Vlahos, Hume City has announced its newly selected leadership group for the 2010 season. Louie Acevski has been selected to take charge of the highly talented group as captain, with Izzy Erdogan and Tansel Baser voted in as his deputy captains.

Louie Acevski, who won the goal keeper of the season in 2009, was on the radar of all VPL clubs, but resisted the change staying loyal to Hume City FC. "It was a tough pre season for me at the start, I had offers, and had to make decisions, but at the end of the day, I enjoyed my time at Hume City, and believe we have unfinished business in 2010. We are in it together with our supporters, and hope that they support us all the way."anadolu--oakleigh-cannonswe

Coach Andy Vlahos said "Louie Acevski has great on field and off field presence and is highly respected by the boys around the club. He will be great for the season ahead. Serdar Pir has been leading the club for the last couple of seasons, and is still an extremely important part of this club, it was a decision that was the right fit for the season ahead."

Louie Acevski honored at the decision said, "Its an honour to lead a club that does everything right by the playing group. We have set some internal goals, and we will go about making those goals happen...To be quite honest, there isnt much that I need to do, because our team has a fantastic bond, we are all great with each other on and off the field, my job will be just keeping the boys focused at the task ahead in conjunction with the coaching staff."

Aksed about the new appiontment former captain Serdar Pir said, "I have an increasing workload off the field, and wouldnt have been able to carry out the duties as was required of me, Louie, Izzy and Tansel are all men of great character, and are the right choices. I will still be doing my bit on and off the ground. This club needs everyone to do their bit to win that championship we came so close to winning last season, and it still burns inside."

Hume City will play Richmond on Wednesday at Kevin Bartlett Reserve with kick off at 7pm.
