Hume city U13 side continued its winning streak with a 2-0 victory over North Geelong Warriors on Sunday.
Barely four minutes elapsed before Hume found the back of the net when Deha Kurul broke clear of the home sides defence to score by a through ball from Jake Najdovski.
Hume City continued to create plenty of chances and shots on goal but couldn’t seem to find the back of the net.
In the 49thminute Jake Najdovski broke through the midfield scoring a well placed shot outside the box to see Hume City extend its lead.
That would be the end of the scoring with Hume under 13 registering an impressive 2-0 win.
Speaking after the game, coach Colin Cooper said he was proud of his squad who stood up under pressure from a tough North Geelong outfit.
“This week provided another challenge as North Geelong is a very good team and its players put a lot of pressure on our boys when we were in possession, Cooper said.
“That pressure and a surface that was a little uneven meant it was harder to keep the ball.
“We probably went about it the wrong way, as we seemed to hold onto the ball too long and had fewer passing strings than previous weeks.
“North Geelong played some impressive football and was unlucky not to score a couple of times.
“The aim at training this week will be to pay attention to effective possession by moving and sharing the ball more efficiently.”
Hume City continues its 2017 season against Werribee City at ABD Stadium on April 9th, kick off10:30am.
