Five star performance from Hume City Under 18’s

Hume City’s Under 18 side got its 2017 season off to the best of starts with a comprehensive 5-0 win over Ballarat City on Saturday.

Brendan Boylan’s chargers got the scoring underway in the 36th minute when Moheb Khamisi broke clear of the home side’s defence to score after getting on the end of a Esad Saglam assist.

One became two ten minutes later when Khamisi, assisted by Behic Eraltay, sealed a first half brace on the stroke of half time.

The dam walls broke in the second half as Hume would go on to net three more goals.

Miguel Caceres opened his account in the 59th minute when he was played in by Ethan Flint.

Flint went from provider to scorer in the 73rd minute scoring a well placed shot to see Hume City extend its lead to four goals.

In the final minute of normal time Flint would seal his brace after a foul in the area, converting cooly from the penalty spot.

Speaking after the game, coach Brendan Boylan said he was delighted with the round one statement made by his side.

“Off to a great start for the season with a good win in our opening round,” Boylan said.

“There will be tougher tests to come, but delighted with the well played win.”

The victory sees Hume City occupy second position on the ladder, separated from first place due to goal difference.
