Hume City rounded off its trip to the Gold Coast with a hard fought 3-2 win over Brisbane Strikers on Saturday night.
Dean Hennessey’s men prevailed in tough conditions with Theo Markelis, Atilla Ofli and Oliver Kubilay all finding the back of the net.
The match bookended Hume’s pre-season trip, which had earlier seen the club defeat Broadbeach United 7-0.
Speaking after the win over Brisbane Strikers, Technical Manager Dean Hennessey said he was happy with what the club achieved on its pre-season trip and the hospitality shown by both clubs.
“The facility was great and the people at the club were fantastic,” Hennessey said.
“We trained on Saturday and again played on the night versus the Queensland NPL Champions Brisbane Strikers FC.”
“The game itself was a tough encounter where I thought both teams approached it like a league game and I think the spectators at the game would have been impressed with both side’s approach.
“The game was end to end and was played at a high intensity in spite of hot and humid conditions.
“The camp itself couldn’t have gone any better where all the players and staff had opportunities to spend some quality time together and we did that on Saturday night as group which was great.
“The players have time off now until Wednesday then we work towards our final pre season game versus sister club Cairnlea FC.”
