Hume City has moved to strengthen its squad ahead of 2017 NPL Victoria season today announcing the acquisition of new signings Atilla Ofli and Ersin Kaya.
Ofli, most recently of Whittlesea Ranges, had a prolific season in the NPL 2 last year netting 32 goals for the season.
Kaya, who played in the the Turkish second division with Bayrampasapor before moving to Bulleen Lions in 2015, will add further steel to Hume’s defence as it looks to attain its first piece of NPL Victoria silverware in 2017.
Hume City Technical Manager Dean Hennessey said he was looking forward to getting to work with both his new signings ahead of the pre-season which is set to begin in the next few weeks.
“After stints overseas and also at Melbourne City Ersin comes back to the club he played for back in 2013”, Hennessey said.
“Ersin brings flair, mobility and a willingness to do well at Hume and we are looking forward to him working with us.”
“The playing style we will try to adopt suits Ersin’s game so we hope the transition will be seamless and with a good pre season behind him we expect him to have a great season.”
Hennessey anticipates a successful year at ABD Stadium for Ofli, as he rejoins his former junior side.
“Having had a great season at Whittlesea Ranges this year Atilla not only created goals he also scored plenty of goals which is a great asset to any team,” Hennessey stated.
“The best years are ahead of him and we look forward to working with him this season and beyond giving him platform to become a real threat in this league.”
