Hume City has moved to follow lead of many top European clubs by restructuring the management of its technical department to ensure that the club progresses through a seamless process from 2016 -17 onwards.
Current Technical Director Dean Hennessey will continue in his current role, however this role has been changed into a Technical Manager position.
Hennessey will head the whole of the football department from first team down – mentoring and developing coaches as well as helping drive the whole club philosophy.
Dean along with David Chick (head coach) and Steven Gray (assistant manager) will take control of first team affairs. Dean, David and Steven have all accepted new deals with the club.
On the appointment, club president Steve Kaya had this to say:
“After looking at models throughout Europe combined with the club’s philosophy of youth development and our playing style, this structure will benefit both the senior team and the youth teams,” Kaya said.
“We are looking to build and improve on our success over the last two years, but just as important is that we strive to develop and nurture Hume City grown players to make an impact in the first team.”
“After speaking with and monitoring Dean, David and Steven during their caretaker period in charge I have come to the conclusion that they are the right people the lead the club. They have a fantastic work ethic in analysis and preparation, together they are highly professional, motivated and will leave no stone uncovered to deliver a style of play which suits our club and gives Hume City Football Club its identity.”
“This leaves me in no doubt we have the perfect people in the job to take the club to the next level.”
