Hume City is proud to announce the signing of former FNQ Heat defender Charlie Beverley, who will begin training with the club this week.
The 21-year old defender, proficient at both centre back and left back, will add further depth to Hume’s defensive stocks.
Beverley, a junior with FNQ Heat since the under 14’s, also spent time with the Australian Schoolboy under 19’s.
Speaking ahead of joining the club for his first training session, Beverley outlined some of the reasons he decided to make to the move to ABD Stadium.
“Just for an opportunity really, to test myself against better players,” Beverley said.
“To be playing football week in week out and pushing for top spot in the league.”
Hume City head coach Lou Acevski said he was looking forward to the added competitiveness Beverley will bring to his side.
“Charlie is adept at both left back and centre back and is good on the ball as well,” Acevski said.
“We are looking forward to teaching him our style of football and we are sure he has a very bright future here.”
Beverley is Hume’s fourth midseason acquisition, joining Declan Hargreaves, Danny Dixon and Craig Carley.
FFA Cup action is back at ABD Stadium tonight when Hume City faces Richmond SC for a spot in the round of 32.
