The Under 12 Hume City boys took on the match report v Skillaroo Girls in what was a classic encounter. The girls were superior in size, speed and strength across the park and they played some clever football.
To the Under 12’s credit they stuck to their task and continued to battle without the ball and then seek opportunities to score when in possession. It was a terrific hit out and a great challenge with goalkeeper Eren Arslan being tested quite a few times and he dealt with the pressure like a professional.
Nathan Talevski and Emre Saglam worked hard in midfield which helped the creative Jake Nadjovski and Max Krysinaki. Bayram Yetismis cleaned everything up at the back to ease the pressure and was supported well by Lucas Trenkovski.
For the second week in a row Aydin Cekic and Kaan Elibol played important roles in the win. All the other boys met the challenge with great endeavour. As state winning junior coach, Hus Saglam, observed to Coach Cooper, “these are the game we want our kids exposed to – it’s a challenge and that’s the way the kids improve.”
The Under 12’s coach agreed and although it was hard work, many lessons were learnt.
