Hume City is proud to announce the signing of Hernan Espindola.
Espindola, 21, has made two appearances for Melbourne City’s A-League side after impressing in the club’s youth team.
The Argentine-born midfielder also has experience with Melbourne Victory’s youth team, along with Pascoe Vale and Goulburn Valley Suns.
Espindola has previously tasted international football when he represented Australia at under-17 level in 2011.
Speaking after his first training session at ABD Stadium, Espindola said that first objective will be to earn a spot for himself in the side, as he hopes to push City towards further NPL and FFA Cup success.
“Obviously I wasn’t getting much game time (at Melbourne City) but hopefully I can push myself and fight for my spot,” Espindola told HumeCityFC.com
“I want to play as many games as possible and play as best I can; for the club and for myself.”
Hume City head coach Lou Acevski highlighted Espindola’s technical ability, as well as his attacking intent, as two of the key characteristics which caught his eye.
“Hernan is another young footballer, technically very good,” Acevski said.
“He has a good pedigree coming from the A-League, he is just going to add a lot more depth to us and I’m sure he will add to our attacking abilities as well.
“He has has ambitions to go back to the A-League and I want players with ambition and drive; he fits that bill perfectly.”
Hume City gets its 2016 NPL Victoria campaign underway at ABD Stadium on Saturday February 20 against Richmond SC.
